Pigeons (Columbidae) are a family of mostly medium-sized, compactly built birds with full, round breast and small head. They have a fast, mostly linear flight. Unlike other birds, they can suck up water with their beaks. The youngsters are fed with pigeon milk from the crop. The male is called cock and the female is called hen or just pigeon.
