Crocus is a genus in the lissen family, comprising about 120 species. Crocus is a spring flower that grows from an underground tuber. The funnel-shaped flowers are on short stems. They have six similarly shaped petals in two circles. The leaves are long, narrow, grassy with a slight middle stripe and tapered. The foliage appears before or together with the flower. One of the earliest flowering bulbs are those of the crocus. Early in spring, they colour gardens, forests and roadsides purple, lilac, yellow and white. With my macro lens, I got up close to the flowers. The result was this stylised photo. Almost abstract in appearance. Would you like such a cheerful photo on your wall?
