When I was travelling from Egmond aan Zee to Alkmaar in the evening just after sunset, I saw a field with these beautiful flowers along the road.
I walked around the field because I wanted to take a photo of these flowers with the sky beautifully coloured by the sunset as a background on it.
I later found out that these are Radish flowers, which grow on Chinese Radish plants in summer.
Apart from the fact that these flowers are edible and used as garnish, the flowering Radish plants also develop the delicious-tasting Radish hulls, which are eaten fresh, i.e. raw.
Just goes to show that stopping along the road can also be instructive.
