About "Real Alcázar in Black and White | Spain | Seville"

About the artwork

This work focuses on Seville's Real Alcázar, captured in a powerful black-and-white image that seems to make time stand still. One of Europe's oldest royal palaces still in use, the Alcázar exudes a unique blend of Moorish, Gothic and Renaissance influences. In colour, this is a place of warm tones, gleaming tiles and green orange trees, but the very removal of that colour creates a different kind of intensity here. The play of light and shadow, the geometric precision of the Moorish arches and the perfect reflection in the water are thus emphasised even more.

What particularly struck me as a photographer was the symmetry and almost serene calm of this patio. Instead of the bustle you often experience when visiting this monument, I wanted to create an image that brings out the stillness and monumentality of the place. The black and white choice forces the eye to linger on the details: the refined patterns in the stonework, the reflection of the arches in the water and the contrast between the hard lines of the architecture and the softness of the orange trees.

This work is not just a photograph of a famous monument, but a visual translation of the atmosphere I felt there: timeless, powerful and layered. An invitation to see Seville in a different way.

At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers, mainly UPS and DHL (Depending on the country where it is delivered, this may vary). Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
