Tucked high in Turkey's Taurus Mountains is the Roman amphitheatre of Selge, more than 20 centuries old.
The black-and-white editing of this photo emphasises the atmosphere of past glory and enhances the antique look of the structure. As if the echoes of the vanished audience reverberate between the stones.
The stands are still largely intact and were carved into the mountainside at the time, with a breathtaking view of the valley. The front of the stage has collapsed, but the soul of the place lives on.
This photo was taken during our 1-day 4x4 trip while on holiday with the two youngest children in Turkey. A memorable day, full of admiration for all the beauty we got to see.
