I discovered this monochrome Sardinian harbour landscape right in the heart of Bosa on 22 March 2006 in the early hours of the morning.
The photo was taken with the NIKON D50 camera (lens: SIGMA 18.0-50.0 mm f/2.8) during my Easter and photo trip to the magical Mediterranean island of Sardinia.
It is not without reason that Bosa in the province of Oristano is one of the most beautiful places to visit in Sardinia (Sardegna in Italian). Although the town in Sardinia is not large - the Italian municipality has a population of 7,926 (2017) - it is full of charm. The historic town centre is surrounded by picturesque alleyways. Small souvenirs and regional delicacies can be purchased in the many charming shops.
Bosa is an ideal starting point for excursions throughout western Sardinia: The landscape is ideal for hiking, cycling and exploring. Bosa is also just two kilometres from the sea.
Just as worth seeing in one of the "I borghi più belli d'Italia", i.e. one of the most beautiful places in Italy: the valley on the river Temo with the Ponte Vecchio, Bosa Marina, the port of Terrida, Punta Sa Sea and the town of Alghero, around 50 kilometres away.
Centro Storico Bosa - the historic centre of Bosa
A perfect starting point for exploring the small town of Bosa is the historic old town centre. The old town district is also known as Sa Costa and lies at the foot of Serravalle Castle. History comes alive here.
In Bosa, crafts and especially arts and crafts can still be experienced today.
Thanks to the town's abundance of water, Bosa used to be an important centre for Sardinian leather and fur processing. Bosa's tannery is located on the River Temo. Today you can spend the night here in a very special ambience.
