Late afternoon light and shadow highlight the steep cliffs and stunning scenery at Goosenecks State Park in Utah, USA. These landforms were carved by the San Juan River, which is visible at the right hand side of the image. We reached the park in late afternoon, after a long drive from Mesa Verde in Colorado en route to Grand Canyon North Rim. My friend, a Hopi-Navajo Native American, thought it was important for me to see this location before we continued our journey. I only wish we had had more time to explore! I hope the landscape will inspire you and move you to put it on your travel bucket list!
