She wanted to get out, get away to a place where there was no noise, no distractions to interrupt her train of thought.
Because that's what she wanted to do: she wanted to think, to contemplate, to not only question all the things that were going on around her in her life, in the world, but to look out into a timeless, majestic landscape and deeply think.
And what better place to do that in than in the Grand Canyon of Arizona, USA? It is a canyon vast and deep, filled with layer upon layer of rocks and cliffs that build upon themselves, stretching out into the horizon as far as one can see.
It is a place that makes us feel small, but not small in the way "important" people try to push regular people into feeling about themselves, but in the gentle way that nature has, reminding us that we are merely passing through, and while doing so, to leave our footsteps lightly upon the landscape, because others will walk there after we leave.
