Shells and vacation belong together as far as I'm concerned. During a vacation to the arts I am often busy looking for shells. I use these shells for craft projects, for my photo hobby or just for decoration.
Shells are special objects with beautiful shapes, structures, patterns and colors. I am often amazed at how ingeniously such a shell structure is put together.
This shell (Turbo ticaonicus) has a beautiful interplay of lines. Beautiful twisted lines in beautiful deep orange-brown tones run throughout the shell.
I wanted to enhance this pattern of twisting lines on the shell by carrying it through into the background. The curved lines in green blue follow the shell and fan out nicely throughout the photo. The play of lines on the shell is reinforced by the spiral lines under and behind the shell. This creates a photo with a lot of dynamism. The movement of the lines also reminds me of the movement of sea water and that shells are carried away by this undulating movement.
The mix of blue and green forms the turquoise of the sea. And the shells and the sea belong inseparably together.
Such a beautiful macro photo will keep the vacation feeling for a long time. So hang it on your wall and enjoy the free feeling of the vacations right in your home!
I see making art as a creative process.
The starting point of this process for me is always a photo or a painting of my own. Every work of art on this site is therefore based on a self-made photo or painting.
I find my sources of inspiration in everything around me...
