A look at Slovenia's most famous river, with its clear blue water. The Soča River rises near the town of Trenta, located at the foot of the Julian Alps, and flows into the Adriatic Sea near Duino in northern Italy.
I took this image from one of the many suspension bridges, which you come across on a hike between Trenta and Bovec. The river gets its beautiful blue colour, due to the white limestone rocks the landscape is made of.
In this image, part of the famous gorge, carved by the water. The white limestone rocks form a nice contrast to the clear blue water and the green of the bushes and trees.
