Steam trains in the Harz Mountains, old times revive
For more than 120 years ride the steam trains of the Harz narrow-gauge railway a network of tracks through large parts of the German Harz Mountains.
On the track of exactly one meter wide transports more than one million passengers per year and that are not only tourists, even locals used several trains daily as a form of public transport.
What the Harz narrow-gauge railway so special is that there are today almost exclusively driven by steam traction with the largest and most powerful steam locomotives in the world that are suitable for relatively narrow meter gauge.
This picture was taken in the winter during a snow shower.
Precisely the snow gives this picture a powerful extra dimension.
This photo has been sepia treatment, I have it in plain black and white available in my shop!
A photograph for the real steam train enthusiasts.
May I invite you to definitely see my other pictures even steam trains?
Thank you for your time and attention and have fun with your purchase.
Cordial greetings,
