This stork stretches her legs for a moment between brooding. When I arrived, she just happened to be standing in the nest and I was able to take some photos. Just in time, because five minutes later, she sat down again and disappeared behind the edge of the nest. Then, at best, all you can see is a little white skull sticking out above the edge. I am sure she is incubating, because I saw the conception with my own eyes, on 2 April. This nest is high up on a pole near the Dijklander hospital in Purmerend. The unit is shielded from public and traffic, but with a large zoom lens I was able to take this picture.
