The sun sets on the beach at De Koog on Texel. De Koog is a seaside resort on the western side of the island and therefore always has an evening sun. Here I was hoping for a setting sun in the seawater, but rising clouds also gave beautiful atmospheric shadows and here and there crepuscular rays: streaks of light shining through the clouds. The visible clouds here look like rain clouds, but they are just shadows and grey-dark to us. In between, the yellow-orange sun shines on the beach, where a few beachgoers are still enjoying the evening heat.
