It always starts with an empty table and a stack of magazines. With a few colours in mind, I simply start collecting. Some images are simply most beautiful when torn into strips. Fragments of a story then emerge between the jagged lines; told differently to each viewer.
Orange is the colour of sunlight and shadow. It feels warm and it is bright. But fortunately, you will also find many soft shades in the orange family. Nature is well represented in the strips of this collage; in sunlight, a branch, in the earth and the beehives on paper. But man is also reflected in the stories of these strips; a wall in a warm colour, a candle and a woven carpet.
This work is made in A5 format. All images are torn by hand.
