About the artwork

The city of Pagan (Bagan also called) is one of the former capital of Myanmar, and was founded in the year 849. It was the capital of the Pagan Empire, where Theravada Buddhism was the main religion. This can be seen in the huge number of temples which is now still in Pagan; Pagan has the largest collection of Buddhist temples, stupas and ruins in the world.

In 1287 the city was abandoned by its inhabitants, who left the city in fear because the Mongols were coming to conquer the city. Perhaps partly because the city was abandoned when the Mongols were coming, there has been inflicted by the Mongols little damage to the city itself. There are now thousands of temples, often in relatively good condition. An earthquake in 1975 were many of the temples damage, which could not always be repaired.

At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. Details on the exact delivery date will be sent after placement of the order. Depending on the shipping country the following delivery times apply:

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers. Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
