This picturesque view from the small mountain village of Forza d'Agro to the volcano Etna was taken on 29 October 2024 in the late evening hours, right at sunset. The photographic landscape shot was taken with the NIKON D800 camera (lens: NIKKOR 24.0-70.0 mm f/2.8).
Forza d'Agrò looks like a balcony overlooking the Ionian Sea. From its vantage point you can admire the coast from Messina to Syracuse with Taormina and Castelmola, the bay of Giardini-Naxos and the imposing mass of the Etna volcano.
In 1971, the historic centre of Forza d'Agrò (together with that of nearby Savoca) was chosen by Francis Ford Coppola as the backdrop for numerous scenes in the film "The Godfather".
