I didn’t expect to like this view so much. It was the end of a long day, and I was just walking back without any plan to shoot. Then the sky did this—turned completely orange, almost surreal. The cranes stood there like slow dancers frozen mid-move, and something about that contrast between the heavy machinery and the soft light just worked.
I went for a tight crop to make the industrial forms fill the frame, but also leave space for the sea and mountains to soften the edges. The silhouettes felt graphic, but the warm hues gave it emotion. The light posts glowing faintly added a kind of rhythm I didn’t notice at first.
There’s a kind of beauty that sneaks up on you in places you wouldn’t usually look. I didn’t try to overthink this one—I just followed the color and let the shapes guide the frame. Sometimes that’s when the photo feels most honest.
