Take-off F-16 fighter with afterburner.
Registration: J-513.
A General Dynamics F-16A Fighting Falcon of the Royal Netherlands Air Force took off from Leeuwarden airbase using the afterburner. Under each wing, the aircraft has a bomb hanging (olive green colour). The aircraft would later drop the bombs on the Vliehors (Cornfield Range).
The Vliehors is a large beach of about 24 square kilometres, much of which is in use as a military training area of the Royal Netherlands Air Force, the only one in the Netherlands where pilots of the Air Force and NATO partners are allowed to practice with live ammunition.
