The heart of Paris are the two islands in the Seine. A walk along the banks or a cruise around the islands, the many often historic bridges, the Seine is in many ways the flowing heart of Paris.
The Seine also had a prominent role to play during the Olympics. Where normally the athletes enter a stadium, in Paris the Seine was the setting for the opening ceremony.
The photo shows the Seine in a specially executed black and white hue to emphasise a surprising atmosphere. Whereas black and white can often be harsh, this colour setting actually gives a warmer and calmer look, making it easier to fit into an interior in a large format.
