The Trevi Fountain (in Italian: Fontana di Trevi) is the largest and most famous fountain in Rome.
The fountain is located at a small square, the Piazza di Trevi. The fountain was built by order of Pope Clemens XII. The construction lasted from 1732 to 1762. The fountain is built against the back wall of the Palazzo Poli. In the empire it was customary to erect a monument at places where water from new sources entered Rome.
I took this photo on the night of April 13-14, 2018. I was extremely surprised how many tourists were still at the fountain then, what a pleasant crowd!
