The windmills of La Mancha star in one of the most famous scenes in the book, when Don Quixote mistakes the mills for giants.
Consuegra is the most famous Don Quixote site: 11 windmills out of the original 12 from the 16th century. The mills are closed to the public, except for one which is set up for souvenirs. From the mills, you have a great view over the surrounding countryside.
