A photograph taken in the infrared. In this branch of photography, an infrared filter blocks light from the visible spectrum, allowing only infrared light to pass through. The special effect obtained here is that the leafy green is depicted towards the white side however branches without leaves will be depicted darker. And this effect was my approach to take this photo, to be able to capture the contrast difference between subject (branch) and background (leafy green) in a photo.
The reflection of the branch on the surface of the water certainly adds to the photo. This photo would look nice and calm behind a plain light background in a medium to large format.
Thanks to the special processing, which certainly does not make the photo look like a dime a dozen, the photo certainly does not come across as a black-and-white photo, but tends to have a surrealistic character.
