About the artwork

The shell of a sea turtle is one of its most defining and fascinating features. On Mabul Island, a tropical paradise off the coast of Malaysia, sea turtles with their impressive shells can often be spotted in the shallow waters surrounding the island. The shell serves not only as a protective barrier against predators but also plays a crucial role in regulating the turtle’s body temperature in the warm tropical waters.

The shells of the green sea turtle and the hawksbill turtle, the two most common species around Mabul, differ in structure and appearance. The green sea turtle's shell is generally smooth and uniform, while the hawksbill turtle's shell is more segmented and features vibrant patterns. Unfortunately, these beautiful shells were once highly sought after by poachers for use in jewelry and decorative items.

Today, the trade in turtle shells is strictly prohibited, and Mabul Island is home to various conservation efforts aimed at protecting these creatures. Awareness campaigns and protection programs ensure that sea turtles and their unique shells are safeguarded for future generations to admire.

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers. Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
