About ‘The tranquillity of La Torche’ by Roy Mosterd

On the rugged coast of Brittany lies La Torche beach, a place renowned for its waves and vast sandy shores. As evening falls, the landscape transforms into a tranquil, almost dreamlike scene. The sea slowly recedes as gentle waves lap against the wet sand. In the distance, a lone surfer stands in the water, dwarfed by the vastness of the ocean. The sky turns soft shades of pink and blue as mist slowly drifts across the beach. The reflections in the wet sand and the calm water lend the image a serene and minimalist atmosphere. La Torche is a favourite spot for surfers, photographers and nature lovers drawn to the open horizon and the powerful Atlantic coast. In quiet moments, when the hustle and bustle of the day has faded, the beach feels almost endless. The photograph captures precisely that moment of stillness between day and night. With its soft colours and simple composition, the image brings a sense of calm and space to an interior, perfect for lovers of the sea, travel and coastal landscapes

Whereas it used to be all about playing football in the park or tag in the school playground, I now prefer to spend as much time as possible in nature. In the mountains, along the coast or somewhere far away where the landscape…
