A tribute to Thierry Poncelet (1946) he is a Belgian painter who is best known for his paintings Aristochiens, say aristocratic dog portraits. The Aristochien became his trademark, the secret of the Aristochien is the combination of an expressive dog head on an aristocratic human body. He searches for eighteenth- and nineteenth-century portrait paintings at auctions, antique shops and public sales and starts working with them. He meticulously removes the human face and replaces it with a dog's head. He says "My dog portraits combine my favorite two things in the world: antique paintings I collect, and dogs." This artwork is a modern take on his 'Aristochiens' style.
