Triptych of a single photo. This photo looks like it was taken with a vintage camera. In the seventies the cameras were sometimes equipped with three lenses to expose a negative at the same time in three slightly different ways. The result is that the photos fit together more just don't match. Fog always has something mystical in a landscape. This photo was taken in the Hatertse fens on a foggy morning. Because it was almost windless, the water in the fens reflects the landscape on the other side. The fog provides a clear and diffuse light. In the Overasselt and Hatertse Vennen each season has its own colour and scent. In autumn, the red glow of plants and foliage dominates. In summer, the plumes of wool grass and peat fluff wave in the wind. Pine scent stimulates the nose. In winter, the landscape reveals its vastness. But the rolling river dunes, dark fens and heathland are beautiful every season. For people from Nijmegen, this is the closest nature reserve that people like to use.
