Tunnel beach is a spectacularly beautiful and still little visited beach south of Dunedin.
Here you have the Tunnel Beach walk which was carved into the sandstone cliffs back in 1870 by Edward Cargill to give his family a way to the beautiful Tunnel Beach.
This walk not only leads you to a very pleasant beach, but also offers you great views. You look out over the sea and cliffs, which have taken on the most unusual shapes due to the wind.
