Anyone who has ever stood in the middle of the Passage in The Hague and looked up will know how special that moment is. The large glass dome at the top is a real eye-catcher. From here you can see the light falling beautifully inside, while the graceful lines and details of the dome create an almost magical effect.
The Passage itself has been around since 1885 and is the oldest covered shopping street in the Netherlands. But despite its age, it still exudes class and charm. The dome is a perfect example: a handsome piece of architecture that still impresses, especially if you take the time to really look.
In the photo, taken from below, you can see how beautifully everything comes together. The play of light, the harmony of shapes, and the tranquillity it exudes - even on a busy day in the city. It is a place where old and new come together. While people shop, have lunch or just walk by, the dome offers a moment of silence and admiration.
So next time you are in The Hague, take a walk into the Passage. Look up. You are in the middle of a piece of history - and under one of the city's most beautiful roofs.
