Volendam Kwak leave the harbour.
Volendam Kwak VD241 leaves Marken harbour.
The Volendam Kwak is a wooden flat-bottomed boat with a length of about 16 metres and width of 4.50 metres, making it larger than a botter which has a length of about 14 metres and a width of 4.20 metres. The Kwak is larger because it fished with trawls such as the kwakkuil and the wonderkuil, specific Volendam fishing techniques that required more sailing traction with a larger vessel that could carry more sail.
