Wandering through a fairytale autumn forest by Karla Leeftink

What a beautiful fairytale forest with orange, red, brown and yellow hues and earthy colours! This beech avenue is located in a forest in Drenthe. I specifically sought out this location, with its avenue and beech trees, at this time of year because beech trees turn such beautiful colours in autumn. It creates a fairy-tale feeling when the leaves turn red and contrast beautifully with the dark brown, almost black, tree trunks.

The small amount of fresh green among the colourful leaves and the lighting of the trees further along the forest path reflect the positive atmosphere in this photo, which even feels almost cheerful because of the pleasant weather that day.

Because the image looks along the avenue in the distance, it gives the image a lot of depth. This also translates into more depth in the space where this work hangs. Optically, you can use this to lengthen a room or make a corridor appear longer. The razor-sharp image also has a lot of details to look at, so you never tire of looking at it, even in a larger format.

In my mind, I can walk into the forest again along this forest path. It gives a wonderfully relaxed feeling, with a serene atmosphere that invites you to dream away. In your mind, you can walk into the forest and relax for a moment with the natural tranquillity it exudes.

This photograph was taken in the Netherlands, in Drenthe between Hoogeveen and Meppel, in the vicinity of the Echtenerveld, the Bovenveen and Boswachterij Ruinen.
