This color and contrast rich world map is a fusion of a photo image of a corroded piece of metal and watercolor painting on a fiber paper.
All the continents are made up of rust with a colorful gradation that is azure from the top and displays increasingly rusty brown, red and earthy tones with beautiful textures towards the bottom. The background consists of a fiber-rich cotton watercolor paper on which I painted with black watercolor using the "wet on wet technique" with a beautiful granulation. I brought these separate elements together in a digital way.
This world map has an all black background in watercolor. This world map is also available with a beautiful watercolor frame where the brush strokes can be seen on the sides.
This world map falls under digital art and in terms of style it is a combination of modern contemporary art, Wabi-sabi and abstract art.
Wabi-sabi is a worldview that focuses on the acceptance of imperfection. The aesthetic is sometimes described as appreciating beauty that is imperfect and/or incomplete in nature.
The texture of the rust and paper fibers create a tough and industrial look, which can be perfectly combined in a modern or industrial home interior or in an office space.
In short, a special world map for lovers of metallurgy and a rugged Grunge look in the interior such as in the living room, bedroom, kitchen, home office or reception hall.
