Yes, who doesn't know it... the atmospheric cheese farm on the Zaanse Schans? A favorite spot for tourists visiting the Netherlands, but also a true paradise for many a photographer. When I lived a bit closer, I used to come here regularly to take photos. Each time it was exciting: would the conditions be favorable to me?
As a photographer, I naturally prefer sunrise or sunset, when the light is softer and warmer. As it can get quite busy here during the day, I often tried to be there in the early hours, before the first visitors arrived.
This morning was another such moment. And as you can see, my early rise was richly rewarded: a breathtaking sunrise, graceful clouds in the sky and the first soft golden sunlight breaking through them. My luck could not be better! With my ultra-wide-angle lens, this morning was a joy to photograph.
When the warm orange colour disappeared and the light got brighter and the first people started moving among the windmills and cottages, it was time for me to return home, with a broad smile and a memory card full of beautiful images.
