After an impressive solo day of travelling through northern Morocco, I arrived at the hotel I had booked in Chefchaouen. I was greatly relieved to have arrived safely, as my phone was almost empty and I had had no internet since I left by plane from Spain. The nice receptionist had offered me a coffee and escorted me to my room. after unpacking my things, I decided to go to the top floor to enjoy a cup of Moroccan coffee, charge my phone and use the wifi.
If there is anything I am really proud of, it was that moment. I had nothing to prove, just to myself. I wanted to show myself that I am capable of going a long way on my own, even without internet and a phone that had only 10% battery left in a country where I didn't speak the language and had never been before.
After texting everyone back home to tell them I had arrived safe and sound and to reassure my mother that I would be fine, I decided to take this photo with the view of the bouhachem mountain, near chefchaouen.
The ambience gives one through the door of the hotel a mystical glimpse of northern Moroccan colours. the brown wall of plaster/clay contrasts nicely with the rich colours that this aka blue city is known for.
