When I went to Morocco alone for the first time in January 2024, I took a backpack with some clothes and of course my camera. I decided to fly to Tétouan, a small Moroccan airport just across the Mediterranean Sea where they still work with paper airline tickets. Once I got there, I could rent a cheap Dacia Sandero for a little money and off I went! After some fumbling with cash and nowhere to refuel, I arrived in Chefchaouen, better known as 'The blue city of Morocco'
Well, and if this city was blue! it almost reminded me of those typical Greek houses. One person says that the color blue became dominant due to Jewish migration in 1930, while another suggests that blue provides cooling. How exactly it comes about is a mystery, just like this image. Speaking, and yet somehow Mystical. Lively and quiet.
So you see, low expectations sometimes lead to the best things!
