This week, we're taking a look at Debbie's place. She lives with her boyfriend Tom and her cats Ruby and Freddie in an old townhouse in Groningen, the Netherlands. In their daily life, they often go to vintage markets, searching for distinctive treasures for their home.

Before she moved to her current home, she lived in a four-floor warehouse. It was a rental property and Debbie thought it was a waste of money. Once she had listed all the things she wanted in a property, she quickly discovered that a lot of people wanted the same things. It meant that every time she found something special, she was routinely outbid. Eventually she came across a fixer-upper. "As soon as I walked inside, I instantly fell in love with the enormous ceilings and ornamentation." Five years ago, the house became hers. The house was originally a run-down student house with a room at the front and the back, but it's now been fully converted with a luxury ensuite. "It was a nerve-wracking time! Tom and I hadn't even been together for six months, I had absolutely no renovation experience and my budget was small to boot. But it worked out! I'm so proud of that and the walls are still standing."
Debbie's interior design style isn't easy to describe because it involves a bit of everything. "What jumps out is my love for the '60s and '70s and that's why we both decided to go mainly for more vintage elements. These pieces each have their own stories that speak to you personally in their own unique way." Everything that Debbie sells on her Instagram @trashuresnl was once displayed in their home: "This creates a unique, quirky interior that's always changing."
Debbie went for the artwork "abstract portrait" by Carla Van Iersel on an art frame. "I'm crazy about abstract art and this one's all about the blurring. It automatically invites you to look at it for longer, searching for details that aren't there."
