About trotzwegen

There is ‘deshalb’ (therefore). And there is ‘trotzdem’ (nevertheless).

It is surprising that the Duden does not yet recognise the latter, for the equation is as banal as it is universal: hard facts, a colossal ‘if and but’, or circumstances and reasons that speak absolutely against doing something, being something, or choosing a courageous path.
‘Trotzwegen’ is the art of survival in its purest form – and Kintsugi was something of a gift in this regard: a visual language in which fractures are not concealed, but rather framed with gold. This is not a random style, but my own form of expression.
