About ‘Origin’ by trotzwegen

When a deep scar first becomes a golden vein. This is exactly where it all begins – the origin of something that will continue to spread from here.

This very first vein has the hardest work to do. It breaks through the hard, sealed black rock and, in the very same instant, fills the open wound with gold. Almost like visual poetry: the very moment of birth of genuine healing power. Something truly great that is breaking through. And just as unique as this first vein is, so too is the person who must bring it to life – for that demands a strength all of its own.

On matt aluminium Dibond, the deep, dark black comes across as extremely raw, whilst the sharp golden light becomes almost tangible. Not a statement, but a confession of the soul: one that not everyone can understand, doesn’t have to, and sometimes shouldn’t. Or simply something genuinely different on the wall.
