About ‘Ratio’ by trotzwegen

Originally intended as a metaphor for chronic stress – and that’s exactly what it’s all about:
This isn’t a broken system, but one that achieves great things when working at full capacity. The glowing veins do not show damage, but rather the enormous energy, performance and diversity that our mind is capable of managing for us. We often run at full throttle; the pressure is there. But rather than depicting the system’s collapse, this image, drawing on kintsugi, aims to represent something else: the honouring and appreciation of the enormous work performed by a brain under intense pressure, and its transformation into resilience.

The golden lines absorb the stress and transform it into an image of pure performance and resilience. On matt aluminium Dibond, the dark, solid mass comes across as extremely powerful, whilst the gold immediately catches the eye. A powerful statement for all those who know what the human mind is capable of achieving every day. Or simply something genuinely different on the wall.
