Three-nave hall church with tower in the (former) working-class neighbourhood of Wijk C.
Jacobi Church was founded in the second quarter of the 12th century on the south bank of the Vecht, a tributary of the Rhine, in a village of bargemen and merchants. This settlement was incorporated within the city walls in 1122 when Utrecht was granted city rights. The church is first mentioned in 1173.
