A nice formation of three Grumman EA-6B Prowler aircraft are ready to take off for a flyby.
The role of the Prowler is to jam enemy radar and all kinds of enemy radio traffic before and during attacks by other combat units.
The Prowler has a long flight range, advanced electronic equipment (ECM) and is deployable under all weather conditions. The aircraft was the primary jamming aircraft of the US Navy and US Marines Corps. The role of this aircraft is now taken over by the Boeing EA-18G Growler.
