About the artwork

Amsterdam in Rust

In this artwork, two worlds merge poetically: the historic cityscape of Amsterdam and the natural texture of rusting metal. Through photo editing in Photoshop, two images have been fused into one intriguing composition, focusing on the beauty of decay and the power of memory.

The facades of Amsterdam seem to emerge from a rusted surface - as if the city has been immortalised in an old piece of steel, scarred by time but undiminishedly powerful. This work raises questions about permanence, time and urban transience. The warm colours of rust reinforce the nostalgic character and make the image both raw and layered at the same time.

Material recommendation:
Aluminium. The metalloid enhances the effect of rust and gives extra depth to the work.

Acrylic glass. Keeps colours rich and vibrant while keeping the texture effect intact.

Canvas or Artframe. Gives the work a tactile, painterly character that underlines the ageing motif.

Size recommendation:
Minimum 70×100 cm to show off the subtle details of the Amsterdam facades as well as the rust structure.

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers. Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
