Angel of Freedom

Angels of Freedom
There lies great freedom in the realisation that our true, unblemished core essence is of a spiritual nature. Within our consciousness, our ‘Spirit’, we can go wherever we wish and are free from material constraints. Our thoughts are free, and our consciousness has the urge to grow, to unfold and to be free.

The Angel of Freedom seeks to support us in our endeavour to soar up into the ethereal, spiritual realms and to recognise that we are beings of light, power and divinity. We are spiritual beings who appear to be having a material, dualistic experience as human beings. Yet in truth, in the luminous, spiritual world, everything is interconnected.
With a calm, clear gaze, the angel looks directly at us. His long dark hair is adorned with feathers and delicate strings of pearls in orange, gold and turquoise; a red pearl necklace falls over his ear. The turquoise robe and the large, delicately shimmering wings blend into the watercolour-like, flowing background, in which bright splashes of colour dance like sparks of light.

Before his chest, the angel holds a golden vajra (Tibetan: dorje), a Buddhist ritual object, with both hands. It symbolises the indestructibility and divine power of enlightened consciousness. The polarity, represented by two spheres formed from spokes, is connected in the centre by a rod, a symbol of unity and the dissolution of duality. The warm gold stands out brilliantly against the cool turquoise, reminding us that the power of freedom lies within ourselves.
