Born in Zandvoort by the sea, the sea and the beach are an old love that does not pass. Until my eighth year I was almost daily at the beach. I remember, one day as a six-year-old, that I stood proudly at the top of the dune. Standing there was not necessarily special, but I wore my new wooden flaps with heels and bright red bands! I ran down the endless long row of wooden rafters and enjoyed the noise of wood on wood. First gently and then harder and harder. Until I landed with a thud in the intense silence: the soft sand. There I always went barefoot to the sea.
