Sometimes you can't see the forest for the trees. A walk in the woods can help a lot then, and if the light is just right, you suddenly see a forest beyond the trees again. This photo was taken in the Ardennes, Belgium, in the High Fens area. The largest raised bog area in Europe. The High Fens plateau is one of the last pieces of wilderness in these regions. It lies in and around the Eupen-Monschau-Malmedy-Spa quadrangle. The core of the area is a ridge of old shale, with peaks up to 694 metres above sea level, immediately the highest part of the entire Benelux.
