It is that precious moment when the light is no longer bright, but not yet completely gone. In this shot, the Prebischtor - the largest natural rock bridge in Europe - lies like a monument to silence against the slowly fading evening sky. Nature becomes quieter, the colours softer, the view wider. Between the pines, mosses and golden-brown autumn leaves, the view opens up to one of the most iconic landscapes in Central Europe.
The composition thrives on the contrast between the dark sandstone rocks in the foreground and the soft glow in the sky. Soft orange tones cover the horizon line, with blue-grey clouds gliding above. The trees on the rocky plateau, rooted in barely visible soil, defy time and the wind - symbols of both resilience and tranquillity.
A clump of young pines frames the scene on the left-hand side of the picture. Their fresh, shiny green needles contrast with the rough texture of the rock - a lively antithesis to the archaic form of the natural bridge. The viewer's gaze is lost in the depths of Bohemian Switzerland, where hill follows hill and the eye gently comes to rest.
