About "Blue hour in the evening of Cochem, Germany"

by Jeroen de Jongh Photography

About the artwork

Cochem is a picturesque town on the river Moselle in the state of Rhineland-Palatinate in Germany, known for its beautiful medieval architecture, scenic landscapes and rich history.

Located high above the town, this medieval castle offers breathtaking views of the Moselle valley. The castle dates from the 11th century, but was rebuilt in the 19th century in neo-Gothic style. Guided tours provide insight into its history and architecture.

Cochem's historic centre is characterised by its narrow cobbled streets, half-timbered houses and charming market squares. It is a great place to wander around, shop and enjoy the local cuisine.

The Moselle River is one of Germany's most beautiful waterways. River cruises offer a relaxing way to see the vineyards, hills and charming villages along the river. The region around Cochem is known for its wine production, especially Riesling. Visitors can tour vineyards, visit wine cellars and participate in wine tastings.

The Pinnerkreuz viewpoint offers one of the best panoramic views of Cochem and the river Moselle. It can be reached on foot or by chairlift from the town. A unique attraction in Cochem is the historic Senfmühle, where visitors can learn more about traditional mustard making and taste various mustard products.

Cochem is a perfect destination for those who want to experience the charm of a medieval German town, enjoy beautiful natural landscapes and enjoy world-class wines.
