Commonwealth Aircraft Corporation (CAC) CA-13 Boomerang, Suzy-Q, A46-122 (VH-MHR).
To this day, the Boomerang remains the only fully Australian designed and built fighter aircraft to enter production.
The Boomerang A46-122 (with code letters MH-R) was built in 1943, spent its entire life with Number 83 Squadron and was assigned to B Flight. It initially had a red color applied to its spinner however those spinners represented Number 83 Squadron's A Flight. Because this Boomerang had a light-colored spinner during the war, today it flies with a sky blue spinner for a more historically accurate appearance of this special aircraft for Australia.
The aircraft is now part of the RAAF 100 Squadron Temora Historic Flight Collection after being donated by the Temora Aviation Museum in July 2019.
I took this photo (aircraft still has the red spinner) on March 4, 2017 at the Avalon Airshow.
