The photo shows the side view of the Cappella di Piazza (1352-1376) which was later built against the Palazzo Pubblico. Images of saints can be seen in the niches.
Today, the building is used as a museum and town hall and also has a beautiful observation tower (Torre del Mangia) 102 metres high, which can be climbed for a magnificent view over the city of Siena.
