The Curtiss SB2C Helldiver was an American dive bomber that flew from aircraft carriers during World War II. The aircraft was the replacement for the Douglas SBD Dauntless and was designed by aircraft manufacturer Curtiss-Wright.
The aircraft was larger and much faster than its predecessor. The prototype first flew in October 1940, but due to delays during production, the aircraft was not deployed until 1942. The aircraft was built until 1945 and a total of 7,140 were delivered.
