There is no place where you are more confronted with impermanence and decay than a cemetery. Old headstones, fading, crumbling and discoloured by the action of mould, moss and the elements.
Interesting textures and compositions of weathered material abound.
My photographic work is often abstract because I focus on the traces rather than the subject in decay.
It may seem contradictory but decay has many decorative possibilities, especially in modern and minimalist interiors.
This work, for example, is strong enough to stand alone, but can also be beautifully combined as a diptych or triptych with other work from this gallery.
